Peanut Butter Bars:

  • 1 1/2 cups packed brown sugar
  • 2/3 cup Crunchy Peanut Butter
  • 1/2 cup Crisco® Shortening
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 1/2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/3 cup Crunchy Peanut Butter
  • 2 tablespoons butter or margarine, softened
  • Preheat oven to 325 ?F.
  • Cream brown sugar, the 2/3 cup Crunchy and the Crisco® Shortening.
  • Add eggs and vanilla; beat well.
  • Stir together flour, baking powder and salt.
  • Add to creamed mixture alternately with milk, beating till well mixed.
  • Spread in a greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan.
  • Bake in 350?F oven about 30 minutes or till done (center will be slightly soft).
  • Cool.
  • For frosting, cream together the 2/3 cup and the butter or margarine.
